Eating a healthy breakfast with foods like fresh fruit and whole-grain oatmeal will help prepare both your body and mind.
Minimize Your Decision Making
Your job may require you to make a lot of decisions, but you can still simplify your life and reduce your stress levels by cutting out some of the decisions that you need to make day to day. Decision fatigue, as noted by Time.com, is a real condition that can affect your brain and deplete your cognitive resources when you need to make so many decisions. You can eliminate some of your decisions by putting your brain on auto pilot when it comes to choosing what to eat for lunch or wear to work day to day. Planning some of these decisions out in advance and making them automatically when it’s time to work can help free up your mind. You can also make things easier on yourself by weighing the importance of some work-related issues and whether or not you need to be the one who makes the final decision on certain matters.
Avoid Workplace Negativity
Although this isn’t always entirely possible, you can feel more satisfied in your career by staying away from negative people and situations as much as possible. If you hear coworkers gossiping about another employee or even someone who doesn’t work for your company, you should avoid engaging and instead stay focused on your job tasks. Leading by example might even encourage other employees to be less negative. You can also try changing the subject subtly if negative topics are being discussed.
